Musitechnic has been a leader in audio and music production training since 1987. The courses are taught by audio and music industry professionals to prepare a new generation of audio specialists and music creators using a “hands-on” approach to teach modern production techniques.

Each student has access to over 60 Digital Workstations in the labs and can reserve our 9 studios free of charge during the school year to work on school and personal projects.

Our numerous partnerships and complete program allow our students to optimize their chances of making a living while pursuing their passion thanks to a targeted, comprehensive and quality education as well as regular offers of internships allowing them to network and practise in a professional context.

The program is divided into 4 sessions spread over 16 months and once successfully completed, earns an AEC diploma in audio production techniques.

A.C.S. Recording and Sound Design- 16 months
Our program is taught only by active industry professionals and has a strong practical focus. The program is divided into 4 sessions, spread over 16 months. In parallel to the courses, you will be able to book our 9 studios and have free access to more than 45 free laboratory workstations, from Monday to Saturday throughout the year. Session I The first session is dedicated to learning the basics of audio recording, computer-assisted music production and the knowledge needed to build, optimize and operate your digital audio workstation. Session II The second session puts into practice the notions seen in audio recordings while presenting more advanced concepts & practices. You will also discover the basics of music editing and sound mixing as well as audio post-production for video Session III The third session completes the first two sessions with critical listening and sound mixing courses presenting the more advanced tools and techniques to go even further. Building on the notions acquired in the previous sessions, you will also learn basic music theory and music-making techniques to create a fully original production. It is also in this session that you will learn how to create the different sound elements of a video game and how to integrate them using Audiokinetic’s Wwise audio engine. Session IV Finally, the fourth session comes to put into practice all the techniques assimilated during the year with different projects to be carried out in post-production and musical direction. It also includes career management meetings during which you will have to choose between an end-of-year project or an internship to stand out from the crowd.
Acs In Sound For Video Games And Film
The video game industry has become a major player in the entertainment industry. Audio is an integral part of the gaming experience. Creating quality audio for video games requires complex sound design and the capacity to respond to the growing expectations of players. From recording sounds effects, ambiances, dialogues, designing soundscapes up to giving life to monsters and impossible vehicles, audio has an enormous part to play in bringing emotion to the gaming experience. It is not just about sound design but also about telling stories. The magic happens at the audio integration stage. Using an audio engine (like WWISE from Audio kinetic), the sound artist and audio integrator set all the parameters of interactivity for all the sounds and gives life to the game to create the best possible gameplay experience. Musitechnic is a WWISE CERTIFIED SCHOOL ACS DIPLOMA Our Attestation of Collegial Studies is a diploma recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Superior Education. Upon graduation, you will have learned all the aspects of sound recording, audio editing, music production, mixing, and audio integration for video games and film. STUDIO ACCESS At the same time as the courses, you will be able to book our 8 studios and have free access to more than 45 free laboratory workstations from Monday to Saturday throughout the year.
