General English
We offer General English classes to levels A1-C1
In your GENERAL ENGLISH classes, you will:
- Practise and improve your grammar skills
- Practise your reading and listening skills
- Have plenty of chances to speak and share opinions with your classmates
- Improve your confidence and accuracy when speaking
- Have lots of chances to practise and developing your writing skills
Conversation Lessons
In our Conversation lessons, we focus on developing your skills and vocabulary through speaking and listening.
In our Conversation Classes, you will:
- Take part in question and answer sessions with your teacher on a variety of topics
- Get lots of practice in forming and asking your own questions
- Have lots of chances to discuss issues with your classmates
- Have lots of chances to learn new vocabulary as you speak
Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) and Cambridge Advance Certificate (CAE)
Within these courses, each lesson will offer practise in a range of skills needed for the exam, offering exam-style tasks for all parts of the exam, including speaking, reading, use of English, listening and writing. As well as practising exam-style tasks, lessons will revise grammar and help you to learn new expressions and vocabulary. You will be provided with the opportunity to practise writing in a wide-range of styles, including writing articles, essays and letters. You will be set regular homework to encourage you to continue your language development outside of school time.
These courses are designed for students who have plans to take either a Cambridge First or Cambridge Advanced exam. They offer a combination of both language input as well as practice in exam skills and techniques required to take these exams. Taking these courses, alongside effectively studying in your own time, will enable you to take your language skills to a higher level.

Cambridge Proficiency Certificate (CPE)
Proficiency is a C2 level Cambridge exam for those users of English who have reached a near-native level of communicating in and understanding the language.
Passing this exam would be evidence that your English level is such that you can study or work in a senior professional or academic environment in an English-speaking country
In this course you will learn the high-level vocabulary and language structures needed to address this exam as well as have the chance to develop your English language to a proficiency level. Moreover, there will be an opportunity for you to practise and develop your exam skills.

IELTS Exam Preparation
The IELTS exam is a common requirement for students wishing to study a course in English at university.
Introduction to IELTS Course – Academic IELTS Course
IELTS Introduction (minimum B1 level) provides you an introduction to the IELTS Exam. Studying on this course will allow you to start to practise each of the four parts of this exam as well as engage with the language areas you need in order to begin to develop into a higher level user of the English language.
Our IELTS Exam Preparation course is suitable for students working at a minimum B2 level and aims to push your IELTS scores from level 5 to 7. Studying on this course will allow you to get ready for each of the four parts of this challenging exam.

English for Specific Purposes
Our English courses for specific purposes aim to help you develop your skills and language in a particular area.
Based on sufficient demand, there is the possibility of arranging the following courses:
Business English
Our Business English course aims to help you develop your skills and language to be able to do Business in English. Work through topics, including marketing, quality and financial control and have the opportunity to develop your confidence in giving presentations and conducting business over the phone.
TOEIC Exam Preparation
Our course preparation for the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) aims to help you develop your skills and language for this international test. It measures your English proficiency in a professional context and is a great asset to work or enter superior education in English speaking countries. It’s an important test for French students to achieve a 785 mark to validate their diploma in most of the schools.
Trinity Exams (SELT Preparation)
Our Trinity exams preparation (SELT Preparation) aims to help you pass the Trinity tests. These are accepted by the UK government for visa purposes and are available at five levels from A2 to C2 and containing two modules: Reading & Writing and Speaking & Listening. These modules can be taken together, or at different times.
English for Football
Our English for Football is an ideal course for students who want to communicate better in English in the world of football such as football players, coaches players or team managers. Aims to help you develop the vocabulary and confidence when speaking for any overseas player looking to express in an international football club.
One To One
The school is happy to arrange One to One or One to Two Lessons for students no matter what their level or requirements.
For each class, your teacher will aim to develop your skills in the area you request. For example, you may want more practice with your general language skills, or perhaps something more specific such as your speaking skills, your accent or your writing.
The school understands that you may not be able to attend one of our courses due to work or childcare commitments, so a one to one class may be the perfect way for you to develop your English at a time that suits you.
We offer one to one or one to two classes no matter which level you are working at, be it Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate or Advanced level.
Ladies Only Classes
At Britannia English Academy we believe in opportunities for all, but we are also sensitive to cultural differences. Ladies-only classes enable students to study General English with a female teacher in a class of only female students. Our Ladies-only classes are available for government sponsored or private students.
Fully qualified and experienced female teachers will help students to improve their skills in a culturally sensitive manner. This course focuses on the four main skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking integrated with grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.

Many participants on International Study Programmes’ Teacher Development Courses receive financial assistance from the European Union. Teachers of English and of other subjects, headteachers, teacher trainers, inspectors and advisers from EU member states (and some other European countries) are eligible for Erasmus Plus grants to attend our courses. Applications for funding must be made by schools, colleges or universities. Schools are required to register their interest and submit proposals to their National Agency before the annual deadline. If your school has been awarded Erasmus+ KA1 funding, we invite you to:- choose from the wide variety of courses which individuals or groups of teachers may join or
- ask us to design a tailor-made course for a closed group of teachers from your school.

Online English Lessons
Our online classes are a digital replica of our traditional classroom. The teacher and student have an English lesson, face-to-face but via internet-enabled technology devices.
What are the advantages of a virtual classroom?
It offers more flexibility over a traditional classroom. You can have an English lesson no matter your location!
You would have available all communication tools, such as chat, open discussion boards, polls, multimedia content, social media. Both, the student and the teacher, can attach pictures and videos, make drawings and send documents.

Facilities
You will have your own bedroom where you can relax and have your private time, while you share the rest of the house with the family.
- Students are expected to bring their own towel
- 2 Meals (breakfast and dinner) are included in the price, as well as laundry and bedding!
- Rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis
The hosts will treat the student as a member of the family! No more than 4 students will be accommodated in the same homestay at the same time.
