At Camber College all our teachers are highly educated, experienced and certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). We will prepare you for future study and life in Canada and around the world. Our courses cover reading, writing, listening and speaking at all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Programs

Academic English
Academic English Do you want to study in a Canadian school, vocational college or university? This course provides an opportunity to improve your academic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
Business English
Business English Business English helps students improve their ability to communicate in English in business situations. Each semester focuses on a different component of International Business. Vocabulary and grammar are introduced for each topic using current reading and listening about real-world business situations. Students utilize those skills through research and presentations about their topic. Students will become more fluent and confident using the language of business.
English Plus
English Plus Do you want to have a short holiday and study English? The English Plus program is a combination of general English with sporting, social, tourist and cultural activities. This program is designed for those students who want a little more flexibility in their English learning schedule. Meet new people at Camber College, improve your English skills and enjoy holiday sightseeing.
Exam Preparation
Exam Preparation TOEFL & CAMBRIDGE In our exams preparation courses, you will encounter a wide range of strategies to give you the best possible opportunity to achieve your desired goal.
Global Competency Certificate
Global Competency Certificate In partnership with Sentio Global Education Network, Camber College now offers the Global Competency Certificate as a daily elective. The course provides students with insights into cultural diversity, skills they can apply immediately and in their future endeavours.
Pathway to Highschool and University
Pathway to Highschool and University These programs are aimed at those students who are interested in continuing their education in Canada; from basic to advanced, Camber College has the program that fits your needs. We offer six levels of English and three levels of Business English classes. Morning classes consist of these different levels, and afternoon classes consist of electives. Camber College can assist you with admission to top educational institutes in Canada. Let us help you to gain the language ability needed to succeed in Canadian Schools with our Pathway Programs.
Family Plus
Family Plus Family Plus The Family Plus program is designed to allow families to travel together, stay together and study together. Gain confidence and improve your English skills while spending quality time with your family in Canada. This program will address all aspects of English language learning including reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Summer Camps
Summer Camps Our Camber Summer Camp is designed for students who wish to improve their level of practical English usage and at the same time undertake water sports and activities from qualified professionals, especially in Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding and Waterskiing. Other summer activities such as Horseback Riding, Biking and Team Sports are also on the agenda.
  • 2 – 6 weeks of activities, Monday to Friday
  • English course 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday
  • Dormitory accommodation at Camber College Camp Campus
  • Small groups of 8 – 10 students
  • 1 – 2 supervisors for each group
  • 3 meals a day
  • Daily outdoor activities
  • Transportation to all activities
  • Round trip transportation from Vancouver to Powell River

Winter Camps
Winter Camps Our Camber Winter Camp is designed for students who wish to improve their level of practical English usage and at the same time undertake winter sports and activities from qualified professionals, especially in Curling, Ice Hockey, Snowboard, and Snow Tubing. It’s the perfect camp for students aged 11 to 17.
  • 2 – 8 weeks of activities, Monday to Friday
  • English course 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday
  • Accommodation with a Canadian family
  • Small groups of 8 – 10 students
  • 3 meals a day
  • Daily outdoor activities
  • Transportation to all activities
  • Round trip transportation from Vancouver to Powell River

Accommodation

Our Homestay Program provides the perfect opportunity for students to learn about Canadian culture and practice English as part of a local family in Powell River. Students will have three meals a day and a room of their own provided by the homestay hosts. Students are encouraged to join in the family life and activities.

Camber College Homestay Program families are carefully selected to meet your needs. Living with a homestay family is the best way to practice your English in a social setting. Our families will welcome you into the family, enhancing your experience.
