Manhattan Language has been offering unique and rewarding learning experiences to its students since the year 2000. Our excellent teachers and staff make us a one-of-a-kind school. All of our teachers are native speakers with professional teaching credentials and many years of experience in the ESL field. Many of them have travelled the world teaching English. Outside of the classroom many of them are writers, actors, comedians and musicians, and this shows in their creative approach to teaching English. Our staff makes sure that students have the best possible experience in New York from day one and offer support through orientations, counseling, and fun activities around the city.
Manhattan Language is located in the center of Wall Street, in Downtown New York City. It is close to many subway lines and near some of New York’s most famous landmarks, like the Statue of Liberty, NY Stock Exchange, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Freedom Tower.

The English Tourist Program allows you to take the same English classes as the Standard Program, but is eligible for students with a Tourist Visa. This program includes a Speaking and Listening class and an Integrated Skills class:- In the Speaking and Listening class you will focus on developing your English communication skills through class discussion, role-play, debate and many other kinds of exercises.
- In the Integrated Skills class, you will work on improving your English grammar knowledge and reading and writing skills.

Manhattan Language’s English Intensive Program includes a Speaking and Listening class, an Integrated Skills class, and a Signature Elective class: In the Speaking and Listening class you will focus on developing your English communication skills through class discussion, role-play, debate and many other kinds of exercises.- In the Integrated Skills class, you will work on improving your English grammar knowledge and reading and writing skills.
- The Signature Elective classes allow you to focus on a specific interest. You can choose from Business English, Academic Skills, English through Film, and Speaking and Pronunciation.

Manhattan Language offers a 12 week TOEFL Preparation Program with a customized curriculum. In this advanced-level class you will focus on improving the English reading, listening, writing and speaking skills you will need to succeed on the TOEFL exam. An experienced TOEFL teacher will help you prepare for each part of the exam with practice tests, computer-based learning, and helpful test-taking strategies.- Take 6 full practice tests over the 12-week period.

- Speaking and Pronunciation: Focus on clear, accurate speech with lots of guided practice. Learn useful vocabulary and build the confidence you need to speak English.
- Academic Skills: Build the English skills you will need to continue your education in American colleges and universities. Practice listening to lectures, working on group projects and writing academic essays.
- English Through Film: Improve your English vocabulary and enhance your understanding of language and culture by watching famous movies and participating in discussions.
- Business English: Learn to communicate clearly in business situations such as interviews, presentations and meetings. Learn work-related English vocabulary and idioms and improve your business writing.
- IELTS Test Prep: Learn strategies and practical skills to prepare for the IELTS Academic Exam.
One of the best ways to practice your English while learning about American culture is to live in a homestay with a host family. This is a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in the language and get an authentic American experience. We have different types of homestays available in different parts of the city. Our hosts offer either a single furnished room if you are travelling alone, or a double furnished room that can accommodate two people.
Towels and bed linens are also included in your stay. Most of our hosts also offer complimentary Wi-fi. All Homestays include a continental breakfast and is made available at a time that is mutually convenient (coffee, tea or milk, bread or toast, fruit, jam, butter, etc.). Dinner plans are available for an additional cost.
Guests can choose between a standard or premium homestay. Standard homestays include a shared bathroom. Premium homestays include a private bathroom and may also include additional amenities, such as a private entrance or a kitchenette.
